The schedule of events for the Independence Day holiday starts with a concert in Burr Park Friday night and culminates with a full day of activities on July 4th. The concert will feature the Creative Arts Guild Chamber Orchestra performing familiar and patriotic favorites and there will be crafts and activities for kids. The pools and splash pads will be open from noon until pm.
Softball games will be held at 10;00 am, and there will be pageants and eating contests in the afternoon. The event culminates with the annual fireworks display at Heritage Point Park at pm which is expected to last approximately 20 minutes. Visitors for the fireworks display at Heritage Point Park are encouraged to set up in the outfields of the ball parks in the top pod due to construction taking place at the Dalton Middle School campus.
