Why is logmein ignition so expensive

Central Manage hundreds of computers from one location — yours. Tap on the okay button, no need to drag a mouse around. The Wants: 1 Whiteboard: I like being able to draw on the client's screen, so they don't need to guess what I'm referring too.

The mouse pointer works, but drawing lines is great. Splashtop states it works for iPads. We don't own a single tablet! The client has a database vendor. I give remote access via Splashtop to log into that server. I get a warning; this email address is already used by another team.

Database vendor tells me they already used this email with another I. Database people are great with databases. Tell them to add an alias to their email so they can have Splashtop, I can see that blank stare even over the phone. Did you make it this far? That's it. Like I said, Splashtop is a pretty good product for our needs. Our Logmein contract ended a month ago so Had to jump ship fairly quickly but as luck would have it, Splashtop was the first "alternative" and having already got a teamviewer contract with another group of companies I manage the IT for, decided it wouldn't be Teamviewer hate the way it kicks you off the pc when the local user gets hit with admin prompts.

I ended up doing the semi forgivable in that I created all of my groups to insert machines into, used logmein to get my servers installed but emailled out the url for users to download and install themselves, so far Id say I have 80 out of users done but to be honest, next time they have an issue, they will be asked to install it anyway so its no biggy.

The main kit I needed access to were the servers and unattended access. So far I have found that Splashtop is faster at connecting, remote chat is a hoot! I did like the feature in logmein that showed a new chat message in a minimised window by flashing the tab, its nice to know you have a message rather than happen to find it by luck.

Another slight grumble is the occasional PC doesn't blank the screen even though it says it has. Now, this isn't a problem to me as I don't use that feature but I have a couple of users that remote onto office PCs from home and one is CFO which means there could be confidential stuff on screen at any given time in his office, normally not a problem but a few times other guys have used his office temporarily for meetings or phone calls.

All in all I am over the moon with the move, it could have went easier but to be honest, it hasn't hurt so Im cool with that. Many thanks for the feedback around "chat flashing tab" and also the reported blank screen issue which shouldn't be the case I have shared your feedback on whiteboard and multi-accounts for vendors with our team. Many thanks! Just called LogMeIn to tell them we wouldn't be renewing. After using Splashtop for a few days, everyone is happy, including me.

Splash top is an awesome product! We used Logmein central for years but they took away our non-profit discount and increased the price. By the third year of price increases we had to look somewhere else. I've had good luck with Comodo One as a replacement.

It's not as refined and user friendly as Logmein Central non the less it is still very powerful. I've tested a bunch of programs and Comodo one is the only one that I found that can easily compete with Logmein Central with management features.

It's Free for only the remote management tools but while the Antivirus and Containment modules cost but it's still a lot cheaper than Logmein. If there is ONE thing Splashtop needs to improve it revolves around enabling the ability to blank screens. This requires an additional install on the endpoint and that additional install requires admin rights That is really my only beef with Splashtop, besides that from a user standpoint from an SOS add on standpoint, it just works, and works well.

Thanks again, and do welcome all to continue to help us improve Splashtop. We are committed to deliver best in class tool, service, and value to MSPs. When it works, it works really well. I do get the occasional disconnection and one hyperv server refuses to let me connect yet the VMs on the server let me on fine.

When I go to open a connection and get to the sign in, occasionally I get side tracked for a couple of minutes then go to sign into that client, it kicks me out of the connection connection lost I wonder if there is a time out feature, if so, how long? Id still love the chat bar to flash along the taskbar when a new line of chat has been typed as guys still arent noticing when the chat window is minimised. Ignition has been in beta for quite some time, and after being tested by thousands of users, it seems to have been deemed ready for its Market debut. So why choose this one over those less-expensive alternatives? Take a look at the screenshot below:. LogMeIn, Inc. Now available in the Android Market, the remote access application gives people one-touch access to files and applications on their PCs and Macs — literally allowing them to remote control their computers — from their Android device.

Dealing with the latest work fire drill while in line to ride Space Mountain? Need to rebuild a file server while at the airport? Ignition for Android is the indispensible mobile app that ensures your data is always as close as your smartphone. Foxall uses the application from his Android phone to manage multi-media advertising displays at several English Premier League football stadiums, and sporting venues like Wembley Stadium.

It opens up new possibilities to better serve our clients and troubleshoot potential problems on the go, directly from the palm of my hand. Click to expand Last edited: Jul 14, Handshake Member.
