Most Redguards that you meet in the game seem to be honorable people and I feel that Kematu is no different. They have no reason to help the Thalmor, all Redguards hate the Thalmor with a passion because of the war. Just a side note: If you read the article about the Great War and get to the section telling about how the Thalmor were pushed back across the Alik'r desert it states that they were harrassed by Alik'r warriors the whole way. I doubt the Thalmor would go looking to them for help rather than just doing it themselves.
I'd like to know which side you guys picked and why. Also if you have evidence of one side being right and the other being wrong post that too! Busiao No Laughs wrote: I just think both Saadia and the Ailk'r Warriors are pointing fingers at the other calling them Thalmor dogs to gain the player's sympathy so we'll help them or her.
I'm indirectly saying they're both lying. I find the chances of both sides are just a minor political drama within Hammerfell that has little or nothing to do with the Thalmor just as high as their accusations toward each other. Quote: This doesn't make sense, everyone in Hammerfell hates the Thalmor. This argument doesn't really make any sense.
If no redguard would help them, then why would Saadia have sold the city out? Wouldn't that be helping the Thalmor? The point of this quest is that there is no right or wrong. You have just as much reason to believe one side or the other.
Either way, it means someone did something for monetary gain. In Bethesda games, the most believable story is most often the wrong one, so which do you believe more? Not after. The whole reason that the stupid elves took the city is because of Saadia helping them.
In actual fact, I think her to be somewhat dull and ignorant. She may have tried to do the right thing by helping her house, but she went about the completely wrong way of doing it. Running away has never solved anything and she ended up paying the price in my case. Quote: There is an inconsistency with Kematu's story, though. The Talmor have no record of her presence in Skyrim. She is inconsistent, but many nervous person can be inconsistent.
Kematu was convincing, but he is an Alik'r mercenary. He has charisma and can lie easily, similar to Ulfric. Judging by the attitude Bethesda has demostrated I think they realized everything, but didn't consider us intelligent enough to put two and two together and decided to not bother. It's been a long time and I never really cared about this quest, but I usually sided with Saadia, mostly because I didn't like the idea of handling a lone person I had never heard anything about to a bunch of people I had never heard anything about.
Also, having that in mind, to me she was just some woman working at an inn, and the other guys were warriors hiding on a cave.
And those guys used curved swords. Can you believe that? I have been thinking along the same lines. Well, except I don't give a toss about the shape of their swords.
I'm of the opinoin that Kematu is more right than Saadia is, because those Redguards seem to have a personal beef with her rather than hunting her down for a job. I'm sure none of them are giving the full story, but that's what I've inferred.
I mean, to be fair it's not like the Thalmor are exactly well known for keeping their word. That is all, I pretty much agree with you on every point so yeah :. Governments in general aren't known for keeping their word to enemies.
However that's not about keeping words. If they violated the oeace treaty, there would be a new war. And to come if we are speaking of cities under enemy control and local governments reduced to "resistences", it would have to be a really big war.
If there was such a war, we surely would hear about it. Yet we don't. So there is currently no war between the Dominion and Hammerfell. Personally I think both are liers. Ciel'nn, on the other hand, believed Saadia because he tends to help ladies in distress ha ha , and Kematu's men felt hostile to him.

Justiciar Thorien. Now this is a hilarious poll I'll be first. She probably fled to Skyrim so that the Thalmor could protect her. However it is my firm belief that neither side is being completely truthful in the matter. According to the timeline that would place Saadia now as an old woman. And how did just one woman betray Hammerfell?
Or a city? Kematu is the most convincing in his story because the devs wrote the quest with one thing in mind. Or believe the silver tongued kematu? I choose to help her. I could care less who is wrong or right. Kematu hides behind hired thugs who all try to kill you. Hammerfell signed its treaty with the Dominion twenty years ago. So no she wouldn't have to be an Old Woman especially with the limitations animation has in displaying subtle age differences.
So what if she'd be a little over forty? Does Delphine look like she's in her late fifties? Subtle age differences are not something animation can do. So unless you have proof besides "she looks so young" there is no reason to believe she couldn't be in her 50's. How did one woman betray a city? Pass intelligent information to the enemy about a secret entrance to the city. Would explain why Kematu's men are always harrassing women on the road.
As others have pointed out, why would Saadia be hunted by the Thalmor for speaking out against them in Hammerfell? Everyone speaks out against the Dominion in Hammerfell.
There's nothing out of the ordinary there. My problem with this statement is that it assumes that the events happened recently, and Saadia fled straight for Skyrim.
While I have no evidence to debunk this theory, there is also no evidence to support it.
